The costumes, the wild personas, the stories, the heroes and villains all combine to create something that is both physically demanding as well as intricately scripted. No matter who your favorite wrestler is, you probably remember their nemesis, their character, and their costume.

Here’s a look at some of the most memorable wrestlers who incorporated sweatbands into their unique look.

Stone Cold Steve Austin

After several years of wrestling in other associations, “Stone Cold” Steve Austin joined the World Wrestling Federation (WWF) in 1995. In any conversation about the biggest and most influential wrestlers of all time, Austin must take center stage, if not come out on top.

Steve Austin inaugurated the Attitude Era in wrestling, routinely defying authority and challenging the boss. This attitude gained him the love of millions not only in America but around the world.

Part of Stone Cold Steve Austin’s regular look was two black wristbands, sometimes with one pushed up to his bicep as an armband. Austin won 19 championships during his career including four tag team championships.

Outside of wrestling, Steve Austin has appeared on TV shows, the 2005 remake of The Longest Yard, and in The Expendables.

Just bringing up his name likely conjures up images of him in his wide-brimmed hat and long coat. Wide, black armbands were frequently part of his outfit and helped contribute to his terrifying persona. The Undertaker was possibly most famous for “The Streak” of 21 consecutive victories in WrestleMania.

The Undertaker has surprisingly had a few comebacks after his retirement. It seems he didn’t want to give up wrestling. He has also starred in a few movies and TV shows, including Poltergeist: The Legacy. That is fitting as The Undertaker leaves behind an enduring legacy for all wrestling fans.

Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson

Dwayne The Rock Johnson has been many things in his life, but in all of them he has enjoyed great success.

In college, Johnson was a football star, winning a national championship with the University of Miami in 1991. He joined the WWF in 1996 before it became known as World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE).

In wrestling, Johnson won championships, tag team championships, WrestleMania events, and the Royal Rumble. He was a part of the most watched professional wrestling event of all time and was considered to be one of the biggest draws the sport has ever had.

The Rock’s outfit was minimal, showing off his incredible physique. But he usually wore a pair of black armbands pushed up right around the elbows. Since leaving full-time wrestling, The Rock has gone on to super stardom in yet another career – acting.

He is perhaps most well known now for his roles in The Fast and the Furious franchise but has also starred in other blockbuster movies as well.
